Brian Mitchell is a former South African boxer, fourteen times undefeated “World Boxing Association” (WBA), Lineal Junior Lightweight and “International Boxing Federation” IBF Junior Lightweight Title World Champion, and the best South African boxer of all time. Due to South Africa's apartheid policy during his time, the WBA decided that Brian's title defenses were not to be held in South Africa, so he defended his title 12 times abroad. He finished his career with 45 wins, a solitary loss and three draws. His 12 successful defenses of the junior–lightweight title remain the record in that division to this day. Brian was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2009, received five “State Presidents Awards” from three different presidents and is also a South African Sports Hall Of Fame Inductee. Brian is now a successful commentator for Supersport, a spokesperson for the “Golden Gloves Promoters”, a popular master of Ceremony and a motivational speaker for several charities and companies. He resides with his family in South Africa.
